Fallen leaves, yellow roads and whistling chilled winds!
We all will get up from our summer beds, fold those thin sheets and stretch ourselves out in the peeking window sunshine. We gaze for long at green mountains yet awaiting them to turn white.
Juggling our storage spaces, taking out those quilts and blankets, sniffing them for that one nostalgic smell of fungi that has developed for the rainy season you did not enjoy much or maybe you did. You did because you were a book worm but the ones who love hopping onto newer places smirked every day at the weather.
But now things will change.
You would walk on to the streets in your sweatshirts and embrace yourself in your owns small hugs. Rubbing your palms on upper arms and look for some steaming momos on streets. You will be keeping an eye on corn being smoked on coal and wire mesh. You would see that ice cream cone yet you won't refrain because you have not had enough in summers.
Who denies ice cream ever?
No one does, so won't you. Your shopping wish list would be again full of fleece sweaters and cardigans but all you will do is run back home and look for the one your mom had knit. You'll sniff it...bask it in sunlight and comfort yourself in that and a cozy blanket.
Every day will get colder than before and the kitchen shelves will be all stacked up with Maggi and hot knorr soups.
You will surprisingly receive a courier with a handful of nuts from your mom. And as you wake up when November ends, you'll be smiling for what the season has brought. You no more will be worried about the scorching heat.
All you need is a quilt, a hot fomentation bottle, a handful of nuts and fresh hot soup by your side. You have already made hay while the sun shined. That's how ants work, that's how farmers work. We all have it in genes and we have all inherited these little things. Let's just savor the natural delights and embrace the winters.
